Rubber Extrusions

General Information

Metro Industries supplies numerous standard Extruded Rubber products, including O-Ring Cord, ‘P’ Seals, ‘D’ Seals, ‘T’ Seals, and many other standard and non-standard shape and size configurations.

Extruded rubber is a good method of compounding and curing rubber when the desired product is given to being run in continuous lengths of the same cross section.   Like shapes fabricated from sheet rubber, tooling costs are relatively low in general, and the process is very versatile insofar as rubber compound and configuration ranges go.   Extruding can often be combined with other post-cure processes like cutting to length, punching holes, die-cutting notches, vulcanizing, etc., making it a good alternative to rubber molding in some cases.

Extruded Rubber Compounds

Most rubber compounds can be adapted to rubber extrusion processes.  Compounds Metro typically deals with include the following:

  • Silicone
  • EPDM
  • Viton
  • TPR
